Pets: Pets, with the exception of a fish, rarely feel comfortable aboard a moving ship. They are not allowed for their own safety.
Parties or events: The houseboat is the ideal place to unwind. Your neighbors also wish for that. Therefore loud parties are not allowed.
Smoking: Bad news for smokers. The Griffioen Home is smoke- and vape-free. Also on the terraces!
Check-in and check-out times: Access to the Griffioen Home is fully automated. Therefore you can arrive and depart at any time during your stay. Check-in upon arrival is only possible after 4 pm. Check-out on the last day must be before 10 am. This is because the boat is thoroughly cleaned after each stay and provided with fresh bed and bath linens. Respect the quiet of other boats when you arrive late.
Children: The Griffioen Home is not adapted for children's stays. If you receive children as guests, ask them to bring and wear their life jackets on the gangways. There is water all around.
Maximum number of guests: The Griffioen Home is equipped and recognized by Tourism Flanders for two overnight guests.
Additional visitors: On a boat, the maximum number of persons is set by the builder and indicated on a sign. On the Griffioen Home, up to 10 persons are allowed aboard with a maximum load of 1615 kg.
Life jackets: The law stipulates that there must always be as many life jackets on board as there are persons present. Ask visitors to bring their jackets or notify me at booking if you expect extra guests, so I can provide additional life jackets. Authorities check compliance. This avoids fines.
Parking: You park for free directly over the boat. However, take up no more than one spot.
Safety: Read the instructions carefully for safely securing the boat when you leave it. Simply closing the door is not enough.
Food and waste: Dispose of waste in the bin at Westhoek Marina. The directions are on board.
Speed limit: You reach the Griffioen Home via a private field road. Do not drive faster than 20km/h so the road remains maintainable for the harbor master.
