These General Rental Conditions apply to reservations and agreements concerning the living boat Griffioen Home located on Brugsevaart in Nieuwpoort. In these General Rental Conditions, the term 'tenant' refers to the person who enters into an agreement with us regarding the rental of the vacation property. These General Conditions apply regardless of any prior reference you may make to your own terms or to other general conditions. We hereby reject any General Conditions to which you refer or that you use. Deviations from these General Conditions are only valid if agreed in writing.
We only accept reservations from persons who are 18 years old or older. Reservations by persons younger than that age are also invalid. By reserving, you confirm that you agree to the house rules, the general conditions, the payment and cancellation terms.
We request that you transfer 50% of the rental amount to us within 14 days after the date of the rental agreement. The remaining 50% must be paid to us 42 days before the arrival date. If your reservation is within 42 days of the arrival date, you must transfer 100% of the amount immediately upon booking the rental agreement.
The deposit and/or payment should be transferred to the IBAN: BE76 9734 4476 0895 in the name of Vaarpunt Griffioen, with reference to the contract number, or by clicking the payment button in our confirmation.
By paying any installment of the rental amount or the full amount, you confirm that you have read and agree to the general rental terms. The rental ends automatically after the agreed period has elapsed.
If you fail to pay the amounts invoiced to you on time, you will be in default immediately after the payment deadline. In that case we reserve the right to cancel your reservation and terminate the agreement.
At most 5 days before your arrival, we will provide you with the following access codes:
any that arise because you do not return the property on time will be charged to you. Goods found after your departure we will keep for a reasonable period, but we assume no responsibility for them.
The tenant and other users are fully liable during the relevant rental period for any damage that occurs to the house, the inventory, and all items belonging to the rented property, unless the tenant and other users can demonstrate that the damage cannot be attributed to them. We also advise you to inspect the vacation house and inventory carefully upon arrival for defects and shortcomings. If you notice any damage or defects, report them to us immediately.
We accept no liability for theft, loss, or damage to or of items or persons, of any kind, during or in connection with your stay in the vacation home. We accept no liability in the event of failure or downtime of technical equipment, utilities, or incomplete or partial internet operation.
The costs of normal maintenance and repair of defects are borne by us. If defects occur, the tenant must inform us immediately and follow our instructions as much as possible. Any costs incurred by the tenant in this regard will be refunded by us upon submission of specified invoices.
If you wish to file a complaint, it must be submitted in writing and with reasons to us within 14 days after leaving the vacation home.
The tenant must separate waste and deposit it in the nearby waste area at Westhoek Marina. The code will be provided to you along with a route description. The living boat must be left as follows:
Leave the house sweepingly clean
All items washed clean, dried, and put back in the cabinets
In case of rented bedding, duvet covers and linen in the bathroom.
Leave the dishwasher and fridge clean and empty
No food items left in the cabinets
Empty the trash bins
Report any broken items and/or damage to the landlord
All these conditions, as well as provisions from the rental agreement/house rules and any disputes arising therefrom, are governed exclusively by Belgian law.
